I can't believe it's July already!

Today Laura and I went walking with our dog Mia to the local park here. Along the way, we saw more men than I can count (ok that's exaggerating, but still...) who had the front of their shirts raised up exposing their large stomachs while sauntering down the street hocking big spit balls. hahahaha SICK. I mean, I know it's hot here, but really...??? While on our walk, we heard all sorts of noises from the city (I swear this city is alive 24/7 talking, breathing, and moving around), but the funniest noise of the night was one of the local mosques. Usually they all sing over loudspeakers at the exact same time and so it's a really funny sound all over the city, but today when we were walking, this one mosque was just blaring their music (they always sing a call to prayer or something like that) over the loudspeaker. I don't know if their speakers were busted or what, but the man singing sounded like he was screaming in agony, kind of like a dying animal. It was probably the funniest thing I have heard all week. Just think of the movie dumb and dumber: "You want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?"

Now we are back at the apartment and there is some sort of wedding party down the street. They have been playing music all night and now they are banging on drums... haha! Speaking of loud noises, this morning at 6am I was woken up by people in the apartment complex next to my window who apparently decided to start building something...at 6am. It sounded like they were repeatedly dropping metal pipes on the ground. Over and over and over and over. It was kind of funny...but then I went back to sleep. :)
